The Before...
I didn't get a picture before Erin and Shane got started.

We had to move furniture around so that there was room to walk on the side of the bed. Erin's crib transformed into the toddler (big girl) bed you see. It also transition to a headboard and footboard for a full size.

Erin used Phillipe (a phillips head screwdriver for those that don't watch Handy Manny versus Turner, a flat head screwdriver) to help Daddy finish taking all the parts of the crib off.

The complete finished product. The first weekend we changed from a toddler bed to a full size bed. The next weekend we bought new sheets and a quilt. The sheets are pink, of course, with little pink polka dots. All girly, girly!

So the first night did involve Erin getting out of bed and me taking her back. All in all it was a smooth transition. Erin is very particular about being able to see the pretty flowers and polka dots on her quilt.

This is the other end of the room. I think it is time to take the rocker out now but that REALLY is the last sign that Erin is not a baby anymore. She is very much an independent big, she won't let me call her little, girl who wants to do it ALL by herself. As a teacher, I know that this is the very best possible scenerio, but as a mama I still want to hold and protect her. At least she lets me cuddle her sometimes in the morning when she wakes up or at night if she is ready for sleep. More than likely, she wants to wiggle to keep from falling asleep!
